Impressions about IL MARE from Listeners
Dearest Antonija, I have just finished listening to your amazing new album.
I love it so much – your music is divine. All of the tracks are magical and I especially like Aloft (both versions). It is such a beautifully measured piece that tugs at my heart. There is a purity to it which I can only feel and not explain in words. I also love ‘Expecting Nina’ for its passion and pace.
Your personality is so deeply entwined in your music Antonija – it is like you are speaking to me when I hear these songs. Louisa A. from New Zealand

Oltre le colonne Information & Cultura article
Finally the last two songs are described here:
“Taste of Bitter” is a bitter and self-reflective song, which describes the turbulence and demons of Antonija’s facing the fact that both of her parents passed away within half a year, in such a short period of time. The song is heavy and sad, but inside there is a trace of hope.
“Worth Living For”, finally, was inspired by moments that flare up or make our life shine, “when people feel at home with some of my songs, when an unknown woman sends me a video of her child, who has been hypnotized by one of my songs, when my children make kind gestures, when I get sincere impressions from the audience after my concerts,… These are unforgettable moments full of gratitude, for which it is worth living!”

Murmur of Art post
The continuation of the stories of the album compositions:
“Back to Faith” reflects a moment in which you believe in yourself and your actions again. From that moment on, she felt a self-confidence to create new songs further and not to give up.
“Waiting”, in fact, remains a constant in the world of business. The song talks about waiting: we often have a lot of expectations but most of the time nothing happens. “Someone opens you a door or a window, and then closes it in front of your face. As a result, it is not always easy to preserve patience and even joy of continuing…” One needs to take things in own hands to make things happen.
IL POPOLO VENETO article
Continuing stories of the tracks:
“Brand New Dawn” paints a hope for a better future for us human beings, as well as a dream that Antonija’s music will possibly touch more and more souls, to communicate to them hopefulness and gratitude for each life via music. “Viva Life” is a song with a happy vibe, celebrating life and family being together.
La Valle dei Templi article
La Valle dei Templi article presents IL MARE album and writes:
“Expecting Nina” depicts a happy state of mind, when Antonija was pregnant with her first child and expecting her arrival. “Magic Forest” is a song about discovering mysterious things in a forest, discovering new places and new people, understanding them better. The atmosphere here is exploratory and mystifying.
Paese Italia Press
One more supporting article in Paese Italia Press.
A further excerpt of the song stories from “IL MARE” is presented here:
“Late Fall” was actually composed during late fall. The composition portrays a frustration with sometimes too fast, sometimes too slow passage of time´. One does a lot of work directly from heart, but often does not see results soon enough. But still it is not a “downer” song, the energy is still there to move on and stay focused and motivated.
Gliscomunicati article
Gliscomunicati.it endorses also the new album “IL MARE”.
The stories of the next two songs are as follows:
“Forgive” represents a sad song that combines two stories – the one of her friend’s misfortunate, unjust happenings in life and the other story overlapping with Antonija’s own feelings of disappointment with certain friendships. “It felt therapeutic to write this song and to find a strength to forgive”, Antonija shared. “Aloft” was inspired by a film also named “Aloft”. The movie is a sad, atmospheric, profound, slowly and thoughtfully told life drama. The song is arranged with cello to create more depth, orchestrated by Davor Rocco and Antonija Pacek, featuring Neva Begovic on cello.
Cronaca Oggi Quotidiano article
The article also includes the stories of each composition on the “IL MARE” album.
Here is a translated excerpt:
The opening song of the new album is “Before the Storm”, which depicts challenges she faced with one of her children. In retrospect, Antonija closely listened to her child’s heart and feelings, so the disputes were all resolved with time.
“The SEA” is a goodbye song for her mother, and presents her acceptance that her mother is physically gone. An excerpt of the chorus that Antonija wrote for this song goes “your face reflected in the deep, deep blue sea, oceans of memories right back, back at me, searching for the moments for the days full of glare, then rolling with the wave coming up for air…”. An instrumental solo piano version of the song the SEA is the track two, and the piano with the vocal version, featuring Barbara Kier is a bonus track on the album (14).

A press release text is published there.
B in Rome promotes IL MARE album
B in Rome magazine reports: The challenges to which life subjects us every day, the lasting influence of a great loss, the disappointments of friendship and the sense of forgiveness, faith and trust in one’s actions and thoughts, a sad film, but also happy moments: these are some of the main themes that inspired the new album by Antonija Pacek: “IL MARE”.
There is a sea of emotions that is intertwined in the thirteen original compositions that the pianist of Croatian and Austrian origin has created and interpreted in her third, highly anticipated album: it is instrumental pieces seasoned with poetic imagination and unexplored sounds that will surely hit the sensibilities of the listeners of every story, geography and generation! During Antonija’s stay in her summer house right next to the sea, the artist found there a meditative clarity and a creative energy that led her to compose songs such as Forgive, Magic Forest, Viva Life and Back to Faith.
“IL MARE” will be published via spinnup (Universal Music Group) and available on the major digital streaming and download platforms (such as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, Google Music, etc.) as of Friday, December 7, 2018.
In the coming weeks, the album will be broadcast by prestigious radio stations, including Radio Klassik in Vienna; Twentysound Radio in Berlin; Radio Kristall in Milan; Shades of Classics in Canada and Whispering Radio, in the United States
Antonija Pacek has been able to transmit to a multigenerational and multicultural audience a true passion in the way of playing and interpenetrating life through music. After the success of “Soul Colours” and “Life Stories”, a new tour is scheduled for 2019 in Italy, Austria, Croatia and the Emirates.

Music that lifts up and transcends
On Nov. 8th, 2018, I volunteered to play a Community Support concert at the Geriatric home Rodaun in the 23. district in Vienna. The owner and the director of the Geriatric home Rodun, Mrs. Hilde Haeussle and her daughter Alice so warmly welcomed me (the three of us are in the photo taken after the concert) and all three of us had tears as the concert was finished, feeling transcended. My heart was full.
The feelings after the concert were unforgettable and overwhelming for me as well as for my audience there. Some of their residents held their hands as they felt the flood of emotions during my concert, as Hilde and Alice told me afterwards. Some people that usually do not attend concerts there, came alone in the middle of the concert, inside of their wheelchairs, as the sound from the corridors pulled them inside of the concert room.
As I finished playing my song “Aloft”, someone in the audience commented aloud, “this is as good as the magic!”
Alice send me the following note later today that really moved me: “Liebe Antonija! Deine Musik hat die Herzen unserer BewohnerInnen sehr berührt und verzaubert????. Wir wollen uns bedanken für dieses aussergewöhnliche, feinfühlige und herzliche Konzert.” (Dear Antonija, your music has touched and enchanted the hearts of our residents. We want to thank you for this extraordinary, emotional and heartful concert.)
I thank everyone and I promise to be back at Rodaun next year!
